Naadiya Hutchinson
Sustainable Justice Training Institute Program Manager
Naadiya is one of the co-founders of the B’more Just Transition Network, a network of community organizers and nonprofits dedicated to climate, environmental, and racial justice in Baltimore City. Naadiya serves as a Commissioner on the Maryland State Lead Poisoning Prevention Commission. Naadiya previously served as a Resident Equity Advisor for the Baltimore City Climate Action Plan and on the Equity Committee for Baltimore City's Disaster Preparedness Plan.
Throughout her career, Naadiya has focused on bridging the gap between frontline communities, legislators, scientists, and beyond. This includes her previous roles as the Just Transition Lawyering Network Manager at Taproot Earth and her role as Government Affairs Manager at WE ACT for Environmental Justice.
Naadiya has received numerous awards for her community organizing and environmental justice activism, including the 2024 Baltimore Weaver Awards, and 2024 Young, Gifted, and Green 40 under 40.
Naadiya was born and raised in Florida, with family currently spread throughout the US and the Caribbean. Naadiya received her Masters of Health Science from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Environmental Health and Engineering. Naadiya's commitment to climate justice is an ode to her family, who have suffered from environmental racism and systemic violence.
